Chapter 8
Agent Pesco hooked up the wire to Tazz in the back of their car, getting him ready to make a deal with Hassan for five bricks of cocaine.
Tazz tried to warn the agent that Cindy’s method of doing business wasn’t by talking, but more so done in writing. And as of late, Hassan has been using the same method, especially since the raid on South Philly.
Pesco didn’t care. He wanted a concrete case and verbal confirmation of what was being purchased. He needed it to go along with the rest of the evidence he was conjuring up. This was the way the Feds built their cases when they weren’t taking cases from the State. They would build so much evidence against you that it would be almost impossible to win at a trial.
“Look. I need you to get him to talk as much as you can, Tazz. See what it will take to do business with Cindy again. Remember, money is not a problem,” Agent Lavinski said as he hooked up his video camera to get the buy on film.
“Man, I really don’t even want to do this shit anyway!” Tazz shot back with a disgusted look on his face as he watched the wire being placed around his waist. He hated every minute of being a rat, but this was the only thing that was keeping him out of jail. And if it weren’t for Pesco and Lavinski watching his every move, he would have tried to make a break for it. In fact, that idea wasn’t out of his head yet. For now, he had to play the hand that he was dealt, which was full of nothing.
“I know you don’t like it, but it is what it is. You have to start thinking about you and that girl you got who’s pregnant with your baby,” Pesco said, looking Tazz in his eyes as if to comfort him in this situation.
Tazz got out of the agents’ car, mumbling the words, “Fuck you!” He got into his own car, adjusted the mirrors and pulled off, heading only a few blocks away where he was supposed to meet Hassan.
When he got to Cobbs Creek, the normal meeting place for Hassan, Hassan was already there, sitting in a Harley Davidson F-150 pickup truck and talking on the phone.
Agents Pesco and Lavinski were already set up in position to monitor the entire transaction.
Hassan flicked his high beams to let Tazz know that there was a parking spot on his side of the street.
Tazz looked down at his waist before getting out of the car, still disgusted with what he was doing. Stupid fucks! he thought to himself as he got out. He jumped into the truck and gave Hassan a handshake before adjusting the unloaded gun on his hip that the Feds gave him to make the deal go down smoothly.
Bringing a gun to a drug deal was the norm, and seeing Tazz moving his gun around didn’t bother Hassan at all.
